Event narrative

Severe thunderstorm outflow winds downed trees on State Route 136 in Auburn.

Wider weather episode

An upper level disturbance approached New England from the west during the afternoon hours of the 30th. A surface cold front associated with the upper level wave interacted with hot and unstable conditions to allow for numerous thunderstorms to develop during the afternoon hours. Some of the storms became severe with damaging winds and a few reports of large hail impacted mostly the Western half of the state.
