Wider weather episode

A backdoor cold front was slowly moving southwestward from Tennessee towards the Mississippi gulf coast on June 24th. Strong daytime heating ahead of the front increased surface instability which provided the potential for robust updrafts. As the strongest storm along the front moved into coastal counties of Mississippi, frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes resulted in 2 separate house fires. No injuries were reported.
