Event narrative
A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 100 mph knocked down numerous trees along with damaging homes and buildings in Briar Creek Township. This included multiple damaged and destroyed barns and a garage that was heavily destroyed.
Wider weather episode
Numerous showers and storms developed ahead of an approaching cold front on June 26, 2024. Some of these storms became severe, producing sporadic wind damage and a few severe hail reports across central Pennsylvania. There was also some flash flooding reported across the northwest mountains in portions of Warren and McKean counties.
