Thunderstorms developed over North Dakota as an upper-level trough passed though the Northern Plains. A few of the storms became severe over southwestern North Dakota, producing large hail and high winds. The strongest wind gust reported was 69 mph which occurred near Davis Dam in Slope County, while the largest hail was one inch in diameter and occurred in Adams County near Haynes, and in Golden Valley County near Golva.
