An unusually strong high pressure system settled in over New England, raising daytime temperatures into the 90s for a period of approximately 3 days. Very humid conditions also occurred during this period, with heat indices rising above 100 to 105 for many locations. Several daily high records were broken or tied, and the all time high record for Caribou was tied during this period. Warm temperatures overnight provided little relief, and the record high low temperature at Caribou was also tied during this time.
