A large storm trekking across western into southern portions of the state crossed through Jones county with up to tennis-ball sized hail and damaging winds. The Jones county sheriff reported several hail damaged vehicles on Interstate 90, and that strong winds had flipped over some campers and knocked over motorcyclists. A CoCoRaHS observer 12 miles west of Murdo measured the hail at 2.5 inches. While other storms were in the area, few other reports of severe weather occurred with these storms, with the most notable being the weather station 2 miles north of Harreid (Campbell county) recording a wind gust of 70 mph. USDA crop indemnities for Jones county topped 188 thousand dollars.
