Event narrative

The sheriff's office in Saint Martin Parish reported numerous roads flooded and closed in Breaux Bridge, Henderson, and Cecilia. The initial report indicated vehicle wakes sending water into structures around Breaux Bridge, however businesses and homes soon became flooded in several other areas from rising water. A few water rescues were also conducted.

Wider weather episode

A moist and unstable airmass interacted with upper disturbances that passed across the region during the first and second of June. Scattered severe weather and flooding resulted from this interaction both afternoons.
