Event narrative

Residents reported waterspout coming onshore into Rockport. Radar shows evidence of tight rotation over Aransas Bay into Rockport.

Wider weather episode

Gusty winds accompanied the rainbands and large wind radii of Tropical Storm Alberto with frequent gusts to tropical storm force found over the Gulf waters and along the coast. No damage or injuries were reported related to the tropical storm force wind gusts. However, a waterspout developed in the bays of GMZ236 just east of Rockport, before moving westward into Rockport as a EF-0 tornado. No damage to watercraft or injuries were reported but there was damage over land.
