An automated weather station on Big Torch Key measured a wind gust to 43 knots.

An upper-level trough of low pressure to the north and west of the Florida Keys assisted in the development of strong convection over the southeast Gulf of Mexico. Isolated gale-force wind gusts occurred with the stronger thunderstorms from the evening of June 14th through the early morning hours of June 15th, 2024.
