Report received of penny size hail 8 miles south-southwest of Meeker. Video of Highway 13 shows the road covered in hail after the storm moved through.

Wider weather episode

Lingering sub-tropical moisture remained in place with drier air moving in from the west as a low pressure trough passed though. This resulted in sufficient shear across northwest Colorado where some storms produced up to penny size hail that covered Highway 13.
