Event narrative

A thunderstorm developed near Green River, UT on the afternoon of the 25th and produced strong to severe wind gusts. Only one severe wind gust was recorded. This was 58 mph at the Utah Climate Center - AGMET mesonet site approximately 5 miles north of Green River. No reports of damages or fatalities were received.

Wider weather episode

Despite high pressure building into the region, enough residual moisture from a monsoonal push earlier in the week remained to spawn afternoon convection over eastern Utah and western Colorado. Multiple weak waves added some extra lift and instability, while drying surface levels helped to enhance outflow winds.
