Event narrative

The Fremont Island - Miller Hill mesonet station recorded initial peak gusts of 69 mph at 2:25 am MST and 2:30 am MST, and a final severe gust of 64 mph at 2:35 am MST. These gusts were the result of outflow winds associated with a nearby cluster of showers and thunderstorms moving through the area.

Wider weather episode

Sufficient moisture in combination with a shortwave impulse brushing by the area resulted in numerous strong thunderstorm wind gusts in addition to isolated instances of flash flooding.
