Event narrative

The TRAPPERS LOOP ROAD mesonet station recorded an initial peak wind gust of 61 mph at 5:40 pm MST, followed by an addition gust of 60 mph at 5:50 pm MST. These winds were the result of outflow winds associated with a nearby cluster of showers and thunderstorms moving through the area.

Wider weather episode

Sufficient moisture in combination with a shortwave impulse brushing by the area resulted in numerous strong thunderstorm wind gusts in addition to isolated instances of flash flooding.
