Broadcast media reported a tree falling on a car at an estimated time of 200 PM Local Standard Time with an occupant inside the car. This occurred on Route 128 between School Street and Leisure Farm Drive in Armonk, NY and resulted in a fatality.

Wider weather episode

An area of low pressure slowly approached from the Mid-Atlantic coast and passed just south and east of Long Island, NY. A tight pressure gradient around the low pressure center helped produce high winds southeastern New York on April 3, 2024 through the early morning hours of April 4, 2024.
