Wind gust was measured on the Duck Pier weather station. Report was relayed via WeatherFlow as thunderstorms were moving through the area.

Wider weather episode

A cold front stalled across the Coastal Plain during the afternoon of August 19th. As this occurred, isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms developed along the Coastal Plain just out ahead of this front and gradually tracked eastwards into the northern coastal waters and Pamlico Sound on the evening of August 19th. A few of these storms brought damaging wind gusts to the waters from Pamlico Sound north.
