What the National Weather Service wrote

Dept. of Highways reported several roads washed out or damaged in and near the vicinity of North Hudson, NY due to 3 to 5 inches of excessive rainfall. This included, but was not limited to US Route 9 between Duntley Rd. and Tracy Rd.

The wider storm

The remnants of TS Beryl combined with deep tropical moisture and a stationary front draped across the region produced multiple rounds of heavy showers and storms. This led to numerous reports of flash flooding, some locally severe across portions of eastern New York, mainly in Essex County.

Began near Blue Ridge (43.9720, -73.7522).
