Event narrative

Dept. of Highways and Emergency Management reported numerous roads closed and/or damaged due to flash flooding as a result of 3 to 5 inches of excessive rainfall. These included, but were not limited to Joyce Rd., Riddle Rd., Bridal Row Rd., the intersection of Witherbee and Tracy Roads, Pilfershire Rd. and Cheney Rd.

Wider weather episode

The remnants of TS Beryl combined with deep tropical moisture and a stationary front draped across the region produced multiple rounds of heavy showers and storms. This led to numerous reports of flash flooding, some locally severe across portions of eastern New York, mainly in Essex County.
