A spotter reported a 60 mph wind gust along with a lot of pea size hail and a half inch of rain.
Wider weather episode
A surface trough existed near the Continental Divide while a broad upper trough was moving through the Great Basin. Deeper moisture existed west of the Divide and helped fuel storms over the Gila region where a wind gust to 60 mph was recorded in Silver City.
