Event narrative
Glacier Park rangers reported 10 to 12 inches of snow. The Logan Pass snow measuring site recorded 11 inches in 24 hours. The Park closed the Going to the Sun Road. The storm stranded park visitors, and buses slid off the road. One person was killed in a slip and fall accident on Sperry Trail on August 28. Media sources identify the deceased as a 65 year old male who slipped and hit his head.

An early season snowfall event brough about 10 to 12 inches of snow to Glacier National Park. Park officials closed roads, but people were still stranded in campgrounds and buses had slid off the roads.
