Local broadcast media relayed a report from the public of a waterspout just off the coast of Isle of Palms. Multiple images of the waterspout were also posted on social media.

The wider storm

Conditions became favorable for waterspouts in the afternoon hours as showers and thunderstorms developed just off the southeast South Carolina coast. With plentiful low-level moisture and weak surface winds, a waterspout developed just off the coast of Isle of Palms.

Began near Sullivans Island (32.6500, -79.7000).
