Event narrative

Thunderstorm downdraft winds blew down multiple tree limbs and caused a mobile home to slide off the foundation with areas of roofing damage.

Wider weather episode

The remnants of Hurricane Beryl tracked north-northeastward to the Quad State region on the 9th, with the center of circulation following near the Lower Ohio River. The bulk of the stratiform precipitation was northwest of the Quad State, keeping flooding issues from developing. In Southern Illinois, the one report of damaging wind came from Johnson County where a mobile home was shifted off a foundation and multiple tree limbs were blown down. Effective bulk shear was 40 kts mid-afternoon, falling to 30 kts in Southern Illinois, while SRH dropped from 300 to 100 m2/s2 over the course of the afternoon. MLCAPE was notably low over Southern Illinois, only 500 J/kg near the Ohio River.
