A public weather station off of GA Highway 32 measured 2.3 inches of rainfall. Rain

began shortly after 4 pm and continued through about 5:30 pm.

Wider weather episode

A meandering front, very high moisture and diurnal heating combined with sea breezes triggered locally heavy rainfall across inland areas. Very weak storm motion produced slow moving, heavy rainfall producing storms.
