Duke Energy reported fallen trees caused power outages northwest of Durham.

Wider weather episode

A stalled frontal boundary across Virginia remained in place through the day and night. South of this boundary, isolated to scattered storms developed in the afternoon and evening. A stronger batch of storms developed in the evening and overnight, producing damaging wind reports across Orange, Durham, and Franklin Counties of central North Carolina. Storms continued into the 24th of July across the Coastal Plain.
