Heavy rain rates from a thunderstorm resulted in mudslides across Highway 133 about 4 miles north of Redstone, resulting in a closure of the highway.
Wider weather episode
A deep subtropical moisture plume remained in place as a deep low pressure trough and cold front moved across the area, resulting in strong thunderstorms that produced heavy rain rates and flash flooding in some areas. One particular storm resulted in a debris flow across Pitkin County.
