A slow moving to near stationary frontal boundary initiated afternoon thunderstorms along the I20 and I85 corridor. Ample instability and moisture allowed a couple storms to become strong and water-logged. Gusty winds from microbursts caused wind damage from Chamblee down through Panthersville. Slow moving thunderstorms instigated flash flooding in the eastern Atlanta metro.
