Event narrative

A severe storm impacted the Chesapeake Regional Airport damaging several aircraft. Four airplanes were dislodged from the tie down spaces while other aircraft sustained damage of varying degrees. The airport suffered minimal damage. The Luscombe was tossed into the maintenance hanger door and disabled the opening and closing mechanism.

Wider weather episode

Scattered severe thunderstorms along a frontal boundary produced damaging winds and large hail across portions of south central and southeast Virginia.
