On 07/21/24, reported low temperatures ranged from 54 to 69 degrees. Reported high temperatures ranged from 90 to 103 degrees. On 07/22/24, reported low temperatures ranged from 53 to 69 degrees. Reported high temperatures ranged from 92 to 105 degrees. On 07/23/24, reported low temperatures ranged from 57 to 70 degrees. Reported high temperatures ranged from 90 to 104 degrees. Record high temperatures were recorded at Mount Shasta City of 100 degrees on 7/20, 100 degrees on 7/22, and 99 degrees on 7/23.

Wider weather episode

A persistent ridge over the western states with an associated thermal trough extending from northern California into southern Oregon brought a long-duration heat wave. Excessive heat conditions on 7/24 were limited to the Shasta Valley in central Siskiyou County.
