Strong high pressure brought excessive heat to north central and southeast Siskiyou County during the peak of a heat wave from July 6th through July 7th. Low temperatures were in the lower 50s to lower 70s, and high temperatures in the mid 90s to 104 degrees.

A persistent ridge over the western states with an associated thermal trough extending from northern California into southern Oregon brought a long-duration heat wave.
