What the National Weather Service wrote

Mesonet site XBRZ at Breezy Point measured a 45 knot wind gust.

The wider storm

A well-defined shortwave trough and embedded MCV from the previous night's severe MCS tracked towards the region. Strong heating allowed for the area to destabilize, with MLCAPE values around 1000-2000 J/kg. This combined with 30 kt of Effective Bulk Shear allowed for thunderstorms to become severe and produce damaging wind gusts across the waters.

Began near Breezy Point Wxflow (40.5500, -73.9300).
