Event narrative

A strong upper-level ridge settled over Texas allowing temperatures to soar above 105 degrees on the 20th. These excessive temperatures continued on the 21st and 22nd. High temperatures reached 107 degrees at Burnet, Pleasanton, New Braunfels, and Horseshoe Bay on the 20th. On the 21st temperatures climbed higher with highs of 110 at New Braunfels and Burnet. On the 22nd highs reached 109 at Llano and New Braunfels.
