Severe thunderstorm outflow winds downed numerous branches and downed a few trees that snapped a utility pole east of Augusta.

A stationary boundary was draped across Central Maine during the day on July 9th. This front became the focus for convective initiation during the afternoon hours as a very hot and humid airmass provided the instability. Storms were scattered in nature with a few storms becoming severe with convective outflow wind gusts downing numerous trees leading to power outages.
