A waterspout was photographed offshore over Lake Michigan from south of Cross Village near the end of Island View Rd.

Unseasonably cool weather overtook the Great Lakes region behind an unseasonably strong cold front July 16-17. Scattered lake effect rain showers and non-severe thunderstorms were a result of this. Fall-like setup over the warm waters of the Great Lakes also favored development of waterspouts.
