The local county coroner confirmed a heat related death of a 70 year old male on July 15th, and the heat related deaths of a couple, 85 year old female and 90 year old male, on July 16th.
Wider weather episode
An upper level ridge of high pressure over the Four Corners region and a dry westerly flow over the PacNW resulted in dry and hot conditions developing across the region. This resulted in moderate to major HeatRisk being observed over the region.
