Temperatures were extreme the first 10 days of July. On July 5, 2024, Palm Spring (PSP) recorded a high of 124F which is an all-time high temperature. From July 1 to July 12, the Palm Springs airport had high temperatures of 114 to to 124 including a high of 122F on July 8th.

Interior southern California, mountains and deserts, experience the hottest 2 week period for July, and July 2024 was the hottest month of record at Palm Springs. The average monthly temperature in Palm Springs was 100F for July. Borrego Springs average high was also a record at 97.5F. July was also the hottest month on record for the state of California, exceeding the previous year by 1.9F.
