The N7SHZ Medicine Butt Mountain mesonet station recorded an initial peak wind gust of 69 mph and a subsequent gust of 64 mph as a result of outflow winds associated with a nearby cluster of showers and thunderstorms moving through the area.

A shortwave passing through the region resulted in scattered thunderstorms through the day, some of which produced severe wind gusts.
