Event narrative
The Clarks Canyon mesonet station recorded a wind gust of 60 mph as a result of outflow winds associated with a nearby cluster of showers and thunderstorms moving through the area.
Wider weather episode
A fairly weak shortwave slipped by the forecast region to the north, but provided sufficient synoptic support to yield scattered high-based convective development, and some convection resulted in severe wind gusts.
