Event narrative

Extreme drought conditions were removed across the far southwest portion of the zone. Additionally, severe drought conditions were removed from the far northwest portion of the zone but persisted across the rest of the zone.

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions across north central and southeastern areas continued to improve due to a couple of storm systems moving through the state during the beginning and middle part of the month. The heaviest precipitation fell across northeastern NM where drought conditions were already very limited.
