A wind gust of 45 knots (52 MPH) was measured by a mesonet at the MD-4 Solomons Island Bridge (MD147) adjacent to the tidal Patuxent River.
Wider weather episode
A hot, humid, and very unstable airmass resulted in scattered pulse thunderstorms. Several of these thunderstorms drifted over area waterways resulting in gale- to storm-force wind gusts.
