A wind gust of 36 knots (41 MPH) was measured by a personal weather station at Fishing Creek (KMDFISHI2) adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay and Tangier Sound.

A hot, humid, and very unstable airmass resulted in scattered pulse thunderstorms. Several of these thunderstorms drifted over area waterways resulting in gale- to storm-force wind gusts.
