Wind gusts of up to 68 knots (78 MPH) were measured by the Grove Point Range Front Light WeatherFlow sensor (XGVP).
Wider weather episode
Bands of thunderstorms produced numerous instances of gale-force winds with a few instances of storm-force winds during the late afternoon to mid evening hours. There was even at least one instance of hurricane-force wind gusts over the upper Chesapeake Bay.
