A wind gust of 47 knots (54 MPH) was measured by a personal weather station at Tom Point (KMDFISHI2) adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay and Tangier Sound.

Bands of thunderstorms produced numerous instances of gale-force winds with a few instances of storm-force winds during the late afternoon to mid evening hours. There was even at least one instance of hurricane-force wind gusts over the upper Chesapeake Bay.
