A thunderstorm produced estimated wind gusts to 34 knots (39 MPH) near the Lower Hooper Island WeatherFlow sensor (XHPR).
Wider weather episode
Bands of thunderstorms produced numerous instances of gale-force winds with a few instances of storm-force winds during the late afternoon to mid evening hours. There was even at least one instance of hurricane-force wind gusts over the upper Chesapeake Bay.
