Wider weather episode
High pressure was over Texas in tandem with northwesterly flow on the east side of the high brought a disturbance through Arkansas leading to severe thunderstorms that tracked from northwest to southeast across the state. At the surface, a cold front boundary provided a lifting mechanism for the thunderstorms as the boundary moved from north to south across the state.
