Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew portions of a tin roof and siding off a building then scattered the debris across the 1600 block of South Center Church Road. Additionally, in the same area, a power pole was blown over, and crops were damaged in a field. Damage values are estimated.

Wider weather episode

A nearly stationary front across western North Carolina, combined with

abundant moisture, helped to generate widespread showers and a few thunderstorms. A few of the thunderstorms increased to severe levels and produced damaging winds.
