Thunderstorm winds caused a gas station canopy to fall on a car. Several trees were uprooted, all falling in the same direction. Damage values are estimated.

Wider weather episode

A nearly stationary front across western North Carolina, combined with

abundant moisture, helped to generate widespread showers and a few thunderstorms. A few of the thunderstorms increased to severe levels and produced damaging winds.
