The public posted a picture of a waterspout just off South Padre Island looking east from the causeway. Timing was based off their observation along with radar.

Light winds and deep tropical moisture were amongst some of the environmental ingredients that supported the potential for waterspouts on August 24. There was at least one report of a waterspout sighting just of the coast of South Padre Island the morning of August 24th.
