The NOS station at the Charleston Pilot Boat office measured thunderstorm wind gusts of at least 34 knots between 312 PM and 318 PM with a peak wind gust of 36 knots at 318 PM.

Modest instability and downdraft CAPE near a sea breeze circulation led to thunderstorms developing and then capable of producing damaging wind gusts as a cold front pushed south along the coast.
