The wider storm

A weak surface boundary moving across South Florida brought ample instability, lift, and moisture advection to provide conditions prime for convection on August 15th. Heavy downpours and localized flooding occurred, with slow-moving storms, as the boundary continued to linger in far southern FL throughout the day on the 16th.

Began near East Naples (26.1015, -81.7926).
