An upper level low helped provide an extra source of lift which led to additional shower and thunderstorm development in the morning hours, especially over local waters, to close out the month of August. Showers and thunderstorms had been ongoing across local waters overnight and kept the activity in some areas along the immediate east coast early August 31st.
