Scattered thunderstorms developed over the southern Nebraska Panhandle during the late afternoon hours of August 7th. This activity developed along a surface trough and frontal boundary. As this activity tracked to the east southeast, it became severe over southwestern into portions of central Nebraska. Hail up to quarter size and thunderstorm wind gusts up to 73 MPH were reported.
